EPSIODE 42

The Man, The Husband, The Father

In his attack on the family, the enemy of our souls has found a willing participant in modern society and specific government policies in the west. This calculated albeit subtle assault is laser- focused on the head of the family because a decapitated body cannot function–fulfill its purpose as intended by our Sovereign God.

To kick off this 3 part series that will be offering a 360-degree look at the head of the family, Holy Spirit directed the hosts of your favorite podcast to examine his foundational role/office–being a man.

Summary

In Ezekiel 22:30, the Bible says, “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.” A similar search is taking place today; who are the men that will stand on the Lord’s side?

In this episode…

— Define a Biblical manhood [06:41]

  • It’s not surprising to see that the world offers wide ranging and sometimes conflicting definitions of a man because to truly understand manhood, there’s only one Source–our sovereign God, the Creator of manhood, and that’s where our conversation for this episode started.
  •

— In Genesis 1:26, God gave man dominion, lists some ways the enemy of our souls continue to scheme against that authority, and how can Kingdom men claim their territory? [26:09]

  • All of Satan’s schemes can be summed up in one word: distraction– he wants us to redirect our eyes and attention away from our Sovereign God and focus on the world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life.
  •

— What does the daily life of a man of God look like? [45:24]

  • The daily life of a man of God stands on two pillars: humility and obedience.
