Religion vs. Relationship
TSV family, our 51st engagement with you during the latest chapter of your favorite Podcast explored, as directed by Holy Spirit, the difference with having a religious relationship with our God, based upon the Law and a relationship with our God rooted in Grace.
The enemy of our souls makes concerted attempts, even with us believers, to have us focus on working to fulfill the law of God through what we do, instead of understanding that because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross we fulfill the law by receiving him and living a life of Love. We can do nothing without Jesus Christ.
TSV community, remember 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 when you listen to Episode 51, And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
Intimate communion and connection with His creation is what our God is after. He facilitates that, for us, through His Spirit. Take a listen to Episode 51, TSV Friends, and allow Holy Spirit to reveal His Truth to you, as you develop your relationship of grace, and not the law, with Him.
- What is a religious relationship with God and man, and how does that posture destroy intimacy with God and Man? — 10:40
- Being in an intimate relationship with his children is what our God desires. What is his motivation? What must be our motivation? Why?
- Name two hinderances to our relationships with God and Man, respectively, and what you do to avoid these hinderances.— 44:09
Religion teaches you to work to be free of the chains that bind you. Initiate communion and connection with our God, through his Spirit will always direct you to the Grace you have through Jesus Christ, who remitted your sins and grants you access for eternal life for those who receive him. Gods unfailing love for you is demonstrates his desire for you to be free of the chains that bind you.
Religion is a chain. Its attempt is to hold you to the law that was only fulfilled by Jesus Christ on the cross. We cannot fulfill it, neither should we make the futile attempt. If we view God through a religious lens, we will never see ourselves as worthy because our focus is on the letter of the law and not on the Spirit. Remember friends, Jesus’ death burial and resurrection fulfilled the law, so our belief in him restores our connection to God and gives us grace as we mature in his Love
All of the world’s denominations and religions teaches works for their version of salvation. Our God simply says receive the free gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ, when you are called by his Spirit. TSV friends, walk in the freedom of having an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and not a transactional one rooted in religious law.
Holy Spirit said through Paul to the Church in Galatia: “For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself”. Galatians 5:14 (NIV)
