EPSIODE 1

What it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ

It is not just enough to know what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ through his inerrant Word, one must know how to articulate it by being “instant in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).

Listen to this foundational episode of The Spoken Verity podcast as the hosts laid to bare what we at TSV believe and live everyday as followers of Jesus Christ.

Summary

Considering Episode Zero served as TSV’s introduction to our listeners and what they can expect from TSV and as hosts, Episode One takes its turn as our foundational episode.

This consequential installment laid to bare what we at TSV believe and live everyday as followers of Jesus Christ, and how the Word of God is the cornerstone of our show and our private lives. It is not just enough to know what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ through his inerrant Word, one must know how to articulate it by being “instant in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).

Our lives, and the lives of those we are responsible for and connected to, rely upon it “more than our necessary food” (Job 23:12). Our prayer is that you draw closer to Jesus, and receive him if you haven’t, while listening to this episode and all of the episodes we air. Part of our purpose is connecting you, through Holy Spirit, to Jesus Christ. All the Blessings!

In this episode, we discussed…

— Who is Jesus Christ? [05:06]

  • It is imperative for us to lay the proper foundation for our show and there is no better way to do it than to share with our listeners who Jesus Christ is. He is the One we believe in, the Savior of our Souls. We have eternal life with God our Father because we have received Jesus Christ as our risen personal Savior.

— What do we as followers of Jesus Christ believe? [18:31]

  • This portion of the conversation focuses on everyday actions in the life of a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. These actions should be familiar to any believer as it reflects what we do daily. All of our actions must be rooted in Scripture as that is how we attempt to live our lives. “Attempt” because we are not perfect, however we don’t use that as an excuse as we work out our own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).

— What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus Christ? [34:02]

  • In this last segment we detail what it means to follow Christ. Before we can lead in any arena, we must learn to follow. Jesus is our standard of how to live in this natural world and following His example in word, thought and action will align you with His purpose for your life and tether you to His verity. So, as we follow Him through His Word, we will be able to lead and shape those in our sphere of influence for His Kingdom. He will accomplish all of His purpose (Isaiah 46:10), and we as followers of Jesus Christ aid in the fulfillment of His resolve.
